Firsts....

Here are some firsts--

First time Kai went to a party (for Dan and Katrin's engagement)...First time Kai had a bottle....First time to fall in love (with us of course!)

One Month Old!

Lucky us-- more visitors!

My mom's best friend, Betsey, met Kai --She thinks he looks like me when I was a baby. Finally, someone who doesn't think he only looks like Joe :)

Here's Kai with his "Pops" (my dad!)

Kt and Paul brought us dinner and we had fun talking about their upcoming wedding plans (May 5th)!

Valentine's Day Love!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

Love, Kai (who is 5 weeks old!!)

Sarah S.

My dear friend, Sarah, who I met at Camp St. Croix many years ago, had her little baby girl, Addie, only 11 days after I had Kai. It's great to know another mom who is going through all of the same things. We had a great visit yesterday. She gave me a lot of support and suggestions for Kai.

He seems to be quite fussy lately and we are doing whatever we can to help the poor little guy out. It breaks our heart to see him crying and so upset. But, like everyone says-- this too shall pass. Almost all moms and dads report their baby went through the same thing. Joe and I remain patient (but pretty exhausted-- so is Kai!) So, let's keep our fingers crossed that this is short-lived.

Baby Shower

We were lucky to have our good friend, Gregg, host a baby shower for us last Sat. and many of our friends who we have met through my family and my mom's school were there to greet Kai for the first time. It was a terrific celebration! Here is a photo of guest of honor and the host with the most!

Some oldies, but goodies...

So, I was talking to Sarah B. yesterday on the phone and she said she wanted to see even more photos-- so, here are some older ones that I particularly like...It looks like they are from the same day. One of happy, awake Molly and the other one of sleepy, exhausted Molly (the more common Molly).
She said folks aren't getting tired of seeing Kai, so I'm taking her word on it!

Bath Time

Ok, so here are some more bath photos. Kai loves "swimming" in the bath tub with Joe-- also, here is a photo of Kai all bundled up. We went out yesterday, which was a big thing since it's been so cold and Kai and I have been in the house for a few days and I was going a bit stir crazy. So, we visited Joe at work and I went on a 20 minute walk by myself while Joe showed Kai off to his co-workers. Of course, he was quite the hit! But, I'm hoping he'll be invited back since after he woke up from his nap and couldn't find me (his food source), he started to use his "voice" quite loudly to call for me. So, when, I came to the office, I walked in and could hear him loud and clear. Joe was handling it all in good humor-- he was actually changing a poopy diaper on his conference table. Now, that's a dad for you :)

More portraits

Portraits

Well, we went to JCPenny's for some portraits-- and here are some of the good photos. So, they add on the cheesy captions, not us...don't worry, we will not be ordering those. I mean, you can only get so cutesy...even with our cute boy.

Oh, how time flies by...

Here are some photos to show you how he is growing. He weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. at our last doctor's appointment last Tuesday. Yes, the boy knows how to eat!

Cats

So, I know...the big question on everyone's mind is: How are the cats doing? :)

Well, as you can see, we are all doing just fine.....everyone is adjusting and cuddling.

Bath Time

Kai's first bath was a blast-- He loves the water!! Just like his dad, uncle(s), grandpa, aunt(s), and grandma!!

More visitors

Well, Kai turns 3 weeks tomorrow! We can't believe how fast time is flying by. All is going wonderful-- Kai is a very patient, good, and down-to-earth little baby. He is treating us well.

Here are some photos of some of the visitors we've had stop by the house-- we are so lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives (and who know how to cook so well!!!)

My mom

My mom took time off of school and came and spent a few nights in the new Zimsen-Campe household-- what a complete treat! She cooked, cleaned, held Kai, ran errands, went grocery shopping, and assured us everything was going fine. She even came to the doctor's office with us and celebrated that Kai is doing just fine with breastfeeding and he is gaining weight!

Joe

I realized there aren't nearly enough photos of the 'superdad' who is such a natural---and who supported me through labor like he had done it about a hundred times and who knows just exactly how to calm and soothe Kai.

One more great photo

Kt finally got a chance to meet Kai after a week in Florida when all of the activity was happening (the birth)-- she made such a gorgeous blanket for him. Here is a preview--

Then, Foday, our good friend who we have known and mentored since he was in fifth grade, was back from college for a break and he stopped by-- he is by far the most natural baby holder we've had visit yet!

Even more visitors..

My Aunt Janet is in town from Anacortes, WA. We had a great visit yesterday with Nonny too-- how lucky Kai gets guests flying in from around the country just to meet him. See, he really is THAT cute!

Visitors

Here are some photos from my Dad and Kai's birthday party--We are so lucky to have family members so close by. My dad and Kit have brought by food to our house and have visited often. Plus, my dad and Joe already have great plans for Kai as a swimmer. Poor guy-- I thought his long fingers would make for a better basketball player!
